Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic psychology graduate who has experience of working with children / young people to join the CAMHS Tier 4 Service as an Assistant Psychologist. The post is based at Wokingham Community Hospital, working as part of the multidisciplinary team supporting the delivery of evidence-based therapeutic interventions for young people under the age of 18 years presenting with severe and complex mental health difficulties, including eating disorders, emotional dysregulation, and serious risk of self-harm.

The successful candidate will join the multi-disciplinary team and play a role in supporting the delivery of the structured clinical programme and psychological provision for the service. This may include supporting assessments, the effective use of routine outcome measures, and direct individual, group and/or family work, under appropriate supervision. The role may include contributing to multiagency meetings, clinical administration, audit and service development, and the training of others.

A good understanding of clinical risk and safeguarding in the context of child and adolescent mental health is essential. Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has a strong assistant psychology network and is supportive of continuing professional development.
