Marketing & Publicity Assistant (Special Interest Non-Fiction)
The opportunity
Bloomsbury Publishing is looking for an enthusiastic and meticulous Marketing and Publicity Assistant to join the creative and innovative Adult Marketing and Publicity team at Bloomsbury Publishing, working across the Special Interest non-fiction imprints. Imprints include: Continuum, Green Tree, Sport, Business, Wildlife, Nautical and Sigma. Our award-winning publishing lists include a wide range of distinguished non-fiction from current affairs to popular science, from religion to wellbeing, and from business to the outdoors, alongside with the world’s most famous sports book, The Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack. Our acclaimed list of authors includes: Maisie Hill, Martin Dorey, Jimi Famurewa, Ben Goldsmith and Alex Dowsett.
The role

Provide support to the marketing and publicity teams across their campaigns including assisting with and organising events and accompanying authors to events and interviews

Ownership of some marketing and publicity campaigns and involvement in development of special interest strategy and outreach

Creation of social media campaigns and assets

Management of administrative tasks

Responsibility for internal communication of publicity coverage and events schedule

Administrative support on quarterly marketing launch & review meetings

General publicity and marketing contact for public and media, via phone and email

Responsibility for writing e-newsletters and updating areas of the website

Assisting with set up and manning of stands at exhibitions

Jointly managed by Senior Head of Publicity and Head of Marketing – Special Interest

Additional information
The role is a full-time permanent position with a salary of £25,000 per annum
The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday
As an Assistant role, this position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. To assist candidates who want to start and to establish a career in publishing, Bloomsbury offers an interest-free rental deposit to support securing somewhere to live. The rental deposit loan can be up to £3,000 and will be paid back over 2 years.
