This position is ideal for a candidate who is committed to providing exceptional administrative support, including but not limited to membership services, course and event administration, and support towards organising the Society's flagship Annual Conference in June. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and enthusiastic about working as part of a collaborative team, and working proactively to ensure progress is made towards the departments' goals. The candidate will be expected to maintain a high degree of professionalism when interacting with members and colleagues, as a core aspect of the role.
Responsibilities:
Membership
- Monitor the shared inboxes and respond to queries from BCS and Affiliate Society members according to agreed turnarounds.
- Process applications for membership for the BCS and Affiliate Societies.
- Work to brief in producing member newsletters and communications.
- Organise and service meetings, circulate agendas and write up minutes.
- Process requests from Affiliate Societies for changes to web content (where relevant, and/or amend and monitor the shared ticketing system).
- Produce membership statistics and generate reports.
Education
- To provide the administration of all aspects of the Annual Conference.
- To perform other general tasks related to the Annual Conference as required by the VP Education & Research and the Head of Education.
- Organise and service meetings, circulating agendas and writing up minutes.
- To provide admin support for Educational Courses.
- Organise and run some of the Society’s Educational Courses.
- To assist with the cataloguing and management of the BCS Archives and donations, and to act as main liaison with the Society’s Archivist.
