Job Description

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) is looking to recruit enthusiastic and self-motivated apprentices within our clinical areas. Many qualified nurses started out gaining invaluable experience as CSW’s and now we can offer you the chance to do so too in our outstanding organisation!

The candidate is desirable to have at least 4 GCSE’s (grade A-D or 3-9) or equivalent (including Maths and English Language) and be willing to satisfactorily complete the formal training elements of the programme.

The post holder will receive a full and comprehensive induction program to prepare for their clinical work. Support and training will be provided to enable the post holder to develop their skills in the area. This will be through regular supervision and will attend study sessions and meet with an assessor from the apprenticeship provider to gain an apprenticeship qualification as a Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker.

The post is an 18 month fixed term contract on 37.5 hours per week with time for formal study towards the apprenticeship framework and the candidate will be entitled to 27 days annual leave plus 8 statutory holidays. The individual will be supported to achieve their Care Certificate award.

This is a fantastic opportunity for any individuals with no experience in healthcare to develop knowledge and skills on the path to a nursing career. Here at SWFT we have progressed many of our CSW’s into the Nursing Associate course which can then provide the pathway into Nursing. You can earn while you learn and gain excellent experience in our clinical wards and departments.

On completion of your apprenticeship you will receive the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Adult Healthcare Support worker and Level 1 or 2 Functional Skills English, Maths (if applicable)
