Who are we looking for?
The ideal applicant will be a Sales Engineer, Networking Pre-Sales, Sales specialist, Technical Consultant, or similar background ideally in telecoms/ISP. He/she should be familiar with the Key Accountabilities of a Network Solution Consultant which consist broadly of:
Consulting
- Ability to understand the customer business requirements and transform them into technical requirements and solutions
- Single point of contact for business and customer during requirements capture phase
- Responsible for supporting the sales team during the bid discussions with the customer
- Responsible for presenting the technical solution to client at peer level
- Expert in Fixed line, WAN and Carrier technologies
Sales
- Technical support to commercial discussions by the sales and customer engagement teams, bid qualifications and presentation of the proposed technical solution to customers
- Responsible for providing costs for Finance approval. This includes responsibility for maintaining a relationship with key vendor contacts to obtain costs and validate configurations
- Responsible for supporting the sales team during the bid discussions with the customer
Design
- Awareness of, and adherence to, any local processes for the Solution Design organisation that may be in operation
- A very thorough understanding of IP and optical network operations and network infrastructure design principles
- Lead strategy sessions, discovery workshops and product demonstrations to align customers business priorities, outcome, and recommendation
- Produce high level design documentation in line with Vodafone and account-specific standards
- Responsible for providing the technical component of bid material
- Creation of solution designs to solve specific customer problems, starting from agreed requirements moving through
conceptual and logical to physical designs; Understanding the limits of candidate products/technologies and identifying
high level options to overcome in order to fulfil customer business need/fit with strategy
Communication
- Act as role model, influencing all levels.
- Inspire teams across the Indirect Business programme, IT, Technology, and other Network Consultant communities
- Represent the views of Network Consultants on relevant forums.
- Support the Indirect Sales teams and their Partners ensuring that Indirect Business operates as a joined-up function, sharing and working together to achieve desired technical solution outcomes.
