This is an exciting opportunity to join our expert led Allianz Construction New Business Team.
We are looking for a self-motivated and talented individual to join our successful Northern New Business team. Your focus will be on profitable growth, retention and technical excellence in building a World class, multi-niche Insurance & Engineering related service. With ambitious growth targets for 2023 and beyond you will be a key team player helping us to reach our goals.
You will proactively build long-term, sustainable business relationships in order to engender customer loyalty and achieve profitable growth in line with our ambition. Demonstrating consistently high standards of behaviour across all elements of the role, you will assist in supporting the national strategic objectives within the Region.
Job duties:
- On a daily basis, you'll ensure customer satisfaction by building rapport and provide excellent service to external and internal customers and in the long term, ensure customer new business growth and retention you will:
- Build strong relationships with brokers, including attending virtual & face-to face meetings, negotiating effectively, and providing excellent customer service at all times
- Handle general customers' queries via the telephone and in writing within agreed service standards.
- Underwrite new business including analysis and compilation of data for referral.
- Negotiate within authority and referring where appropriate to maximise customer growth including persuading, influencing and convincing customers of the benefits of an opposed course of action.
- Calculate, negotiate and invite new business terms in line with external and internal deadlines. Anticipate likely objections and build effective responses
- Work as part of a close-knit high performing team
- Support the wider teams by being proactive, enthusiastic and by challenging yourself to go out of your comfort zone.
- Provide suggestions to continuously improve the business in an ever-changing environment

This role will involve working from home combined with time in our Manchester OR Glasgow office two days per week.
Skills and experience:
You will be a member of the Construction New Business Expert Team focusing on underwriting Construction risks to ensure Customer business growth and retention. Experience in Casualty Construction, CAR, EAR, Contractors Plant, Electronics and Machinery Breakdown would be preferred but we would equally welcome applications from those with experience in underwriting other Commercial risks and would provide support and training to help you transfer these skills to the Construction product.
You will display excellent customer service skills and strong compliance ethics to meet FCA requirements.
