Come and join St Mary’s Hospital in Warrington as a Welfare Champion for Overseas Nurses, where you will be the first point of contact for our international nurses starting their career with Elysium. You will be patient, compassionate and have a good understanding of the local area as you will assist with all arrangements associated with the nurse relocating to the UK.
Working 22.5 hours a week (with the occasional weekend and bank holiday), you will work in conjunction with the International Welfare Lead and the Overseas team, as you help settle international nurses into their new working environment and ensure full integration with colleagues and patient group.
Notably, you will be responsible for identifying the evolving needs of staff, providing resources, planning events and being a point of contact for those who may need further assistance. You will ensure access and support of the OSCE team, ensuring the international nurse achieves a first-time pass of the OSCE test.
Your responsibilities as Welfare Champion include ensuring international nurses have:
- Regular contact prior to travel
- Transport and collection from Crossley Manor to their accommodation
- Fully understood the welcome pack and relocation package
- Appropriate accommodation upon arrival to the UK and is supported in finding permanent accommodation local to the site
- Daily contact/ meetings to discuss and solve any issues
- Orientation to the site and local area
- Settlement into the accommodation and the knowledge and resources to support themselves
- Registered with the necessary authorities including the GP
- Travel to and from work safely and on time for their shifts
- Initial out of hours support as necessary
In order to be successful in this role, you will have:
