An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Fixed Wing Supply Chain Operations (SCOps) team at RAF Lossiemouth for a Team Lead. The role will assume day to day responsibility for the SCOps activities ensuring excellent service provision to the various customer programmes delivered at the RAF Lossiemouth site. BDUK provide Supply Chain support to the RAF’s Fleet of P8 Aircraft and their Training Devices and will soon welcome the E7 Wedgetail into service alongside the operational squadrons.

The role :

This role requires the successful candidate to work closely alongside and be in constant communication with internal functions and programme teams across the business and to maintain regular contact with the customer (RAF and UK Government) in both face to face and virtual scenarios. This role requires 20% UK & International Travel

Responsibilities :

  • The collection, reporting and presentation of Contractual KPIs as well as Operational Performance Indicators and Continuous Improvement innovations

  • Current programme delivery this role will assume responsibility for the integration of the E7 programme into the RAF Lossiemouth Supply Chain’s existing team, architecture and infrastructure

  • Leading excellence in Quality, Safety and Wellbeing across the team

  • Operate under minimal supervision, co-ordinating the team’s activities for the day’s priorities, whilst maintaining the expected levels of service across the business

  • Collaborate to mobilise those resources to deliver the mission is the key

Required Qualifications :

  • Proficient in all MS Office applications, comfortable interpreting and presenting complex data and an excellent communicator

  • Excellent communicator – Verbal and Written

  • Understand and work within complex Supply Chain systems.

  • Ability to assimilate and interpret large amounts of Data

  • Leadership experience within a team striving for diversity, inclusion and equality

  • UK SC level clearance (or ability to obtain)

  • Considerable Supply Chain management experience

  • ERP system use and knowledge – Preferably SAP

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Ability to make clear decisions and problem solve under pressure

  • Process development, measurement and improvement

  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation experience

  • Knowledge of Aviation legislation and requirements in particular Mil145.

  • Aviation Warehousing and Logistics background

  • Knowledge of UK Government contracting requirements and processes

  • Knowledge of UK Government Inventory Accounting and reporting requirements
