Purpose of the role:
*
To lead the test capability within OneFamily, planning and delivering test workloads and defining/managing OneFamily’s organisational test strategy and associated practices.
*
To manage, motivate, and develop test delivery teams (both direct reports and matrix managed resources), to deliver at pace and scale in line with required business outcomes, budgets, plans and customer focus,
*
Demonstrate accountability, planning and prioritisation for project test activities (including system testing, regression testing, test automation, non-functional testing, and user acceptance testing [UAT]), as well as other activities supporting the test lifecycle, such as automated vulnerability scanning, test data generation\masking and test environment provision tasks.
*
Work closely with third party policy admin platform suppliers, ensuring quality deliverables received, good relationships are maintained, and alignment is good.
*
Serve as an ambassador for all aspects of testing, keeping close to emerging industry trends and ensuring that the test function works to best practices and optimum efficiency.
*
Responsible for performance and people management for direct reports and, where appropriate, for matrix managed resources.
*
Key accountabilities:
*
- Be responsible for the test approach, resourcing, execution, and reporting of multiple concurrent projects, working cross-functionally with other delivery managers within the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
*
Lead and develop empowered, collaborative, high performing test delivery teams driving commercial outcome focused solutions, maintain delivery momentum without trading quality for time.
*
Ensure that all systems tested meet agreed service levels, business requirements, approved designs, and non-functional requirements.
*
Strong and influential stakeholder management across the business to include effective and collaborative partner and third-party relationships.
*
Ensure best practice models and standards are adopted for all test activities and that identified risks are effectively managed/escalated.
*
Ensure good levels of reporting is delivered on progress and blockers
*
To promote the advantages of testing and ensure that the business gains maximum value from the function.
*
To ensure that testing is carried out to the agreed risk-based standard.
*
Ability to escalate in line with defined practices and to manage problems, conflicting priorities and issues.
*
Be at the forefront of driving forward OneFamily’s organisational test strategy, objectives, and ambitions.
*
Be passionate about testing, always representing the discipline positively and actively researching emerging trends in the industry.
*
Skills / Experience / Knowledge:
*
- Proven Test management capability and experience leading QA delivery teams (for multiple concurrent projects) in an Agile, Prince2, Hybrid environment
*
Experience of working with third-party development teams and suppliers.
*
Hands-on experience in all aspects of testing, encompassing the full range of test activities performed throughout the SDLC.
*
Ability to work under pressure to meet business critical deadlines and SLAs.
*
Strong oral and written communication skills.
*
Able to influence senior management and stakeholders.
*
Ability to deliver test strategies and approaches, working closely with other business functions.
*
Solid experience in the creation of test documentation.
*
Expertise in a range of IT systems architectures and application domains.
*
Strong knowledge of SQL Server.
Desirable
*
ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certified.
*
Automation test experience (using Selenium WebDriver) and Performance test experience
*
Hands-on expertise in administering Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
*
Knowledge of Middleware or API-led Connectivity platforms and principles.
