As an Operations Manager you will lead a team of cross-sector specialists to deliver end-to-end assessment activity, managing system-based assessment activities where necessary, consulting where necessary with Senior Specialists on complex and high-risk activities.
You will be responsible for delivery of overall programme in line with agreed Key Performance Indicators, and operational leadership of an Integrated Assessment and Inspection Team multidisciplinary team, including direct line management of Assessors and Inspectors.
This role will be accountable to the Deputy Director, Operations for their geographic Network.

What you will bring…
To succeed you’ll be an expert in managing operational delivery with a good understanding of the health and care sector. Advising and coaching others to generate a better understanding of regulations and appropriate interventions.

Accountabilities:
Accountable for managing end-to-end assessment activity through a team of cross-sector and discipline specialists, managing system-based assessment activities where necessary.
Manages operational risk, ensuring that provider and system risks are managed appropriately across their MDT patch, escalating any issues through the relevant governance mechanisms.
Manages resources efficiently and collaborates to support delivery and mitigate risk in the wider network as appropriate.
Ensures appropriate enforcement action is taken in partnership with the relevant CQC-relationship holder, using specialist legal and enforcement advice as appropriate.
Ensures Data & Insight operational insights are appropriately applied within their MDT footprints, for example provider-based risks and system-based risks, working in collaboration with Senior Specialists, other MDTs, Network colleagues, Hub, Data & Insight Unit when required.
Works closely and effectively with operational colleagues, Senior Specialists, Regulatory Leadership managers, and other key business partners to support delivery and mitigate regulatory risk, taking proactive steps to drive improvements, problem solve and manage issues as they arise and to ensure a successful outcome.
Ensures appropriate and timely safeguarding, owning local delivery of the safeguarding agenda and approach.
Liaises with and ensures effective support from function Business Manager and/or support team.
Responsible for developing and managing relationships with external stakeholders for their MDT and geographical areas.
Supports CQC to respond to concerns from the public, POCU and MPs.
Deputises for the Deputy Director, Operations, as appropriate.
Provides line management to their team in the area of responsibility and work with Operational colleagues, Senior Specialists, Regulatory Leadership managers to ensure colleagues have the appropriate support to undertake their role and aid career development.
Ensures delivery of relevant Key Performance Indicators.
Maintains personal expertise in relevant specialisms by participating in continuing professional development and the implementation of personal development plans for self and others.
Promotes team and individual awareness of CQC strategy, policies and procedures.
Plays an active corporate leadership role across their Network, including role modelling inclusive behaviours in everyday interactions and promoting diversity and equality of opportunity, treating everyone with dignity and respect and challenging discrimination.
Promotes a culture of respect and fairness and understands personal responsibilities around delivering against CQC diversity and inclusion strategy.
