The Specialist Investigations Unit (SIU) is expanding, and we have an exciting opportunity to join us as an Investigator. The SIU team investigate all allegations of staff misconduct, for example organised crime, data and policy breaches, internal fraud, data losses, theft and much more.
In this role you’ll manage a caseload of investigations as well as conducting and assisting on investigative interviews.
You’ll contribute to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the strategy relating to Investigations. You’ll also contribute to the continuing growth of the profile and visibility of the Special Investigations team through building relationships internally and externally and demonstrating technical excellence, enthusiasm and the courage to lead.

The difference you’ll make.
Leading investigations into allegations of internal fraud/organised crime or other incidences of Gross Misconduct requiring specialist investigation, within appropriate timescales and to a standard of excellence
Ensuring criminal investigations are progressed via law enforcement and prosecution packs are produced within appropriate timescales and to a standard that meets the requirement within a court of law
Ensuring adherence to Investigative Best Practice and compliance with relevant regulations and laws
Driving early engagement of and collaboration with other functions and businesses as necessary
Contributing to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the strategy relating to Investigations.
What you’ll bring.
It would also be nice for you to have.
Experience of working effectively in multidisciplinary Investigation teams and contributing to related Investigation strategy
Technical expertise in financial services legal and regulatory issues affecting UK banking and a sound understanding of applicable law and regulation
Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills
What else you need to know.
This is a permanent hybrid role which can be in any of our hubs – Milton Keynes, Bradford, Sheffield or Glasgow. There is an occasional need to attend the Milton Keynes office, as well as ad hoc travel required (sometimes at short notice) across Santander sites UK wide.
