Salary: Qualified applicants (with an accredited VAWG /domestic abuse qualification) dependent on experience: £28,187 - £30,750 pro rata per annum.
Unqualified applicants, dependent on experience: £26,650 - £28,187 per annum

About the Service
Solace Women’s Aid provides a wide range of services to victim/survivors of domestic and sexual abuse in Bexley including an advocacy and support service and specialist services co-located in a number of services. Solace are recruiting for an IDVA to Co-locate in GP surgeries across Bexley. The IDVA will provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning. The IDVA will also be the primary contact for health services including GP’s within the borough.
This role will be based in one or more co locations additionally to the Bexley Solace office.
About the Role
A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Health IDVA for Solace co-located in Bexley Health Services. As the Health IDVA you will provide immediate support for victim/survivors of abuse attending health services including carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and providing short-term support and onward referral. In addition, you will act as the health lead for Solace in Bexley, providing advice and guidance to Solace staff and Bexley health professionals. The role will be co located within GP surgeries and within the Bexley office, you will be expected to meet service users face to face within health settings and provide training to GP’s to ensure that routine enquiry in relation to domestic abuse is taking place.
You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work.
About You
We're looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about ending VAWG and breaking down barriers for service users with physical and mental health needs accessing support. You will have a “can-do‟ approach and demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. You will receive training and support for this role as necessary.
Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children, experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of VAWG, and a strong understanding of the barriers facing service users with physical and mental health needs and legislation. A relevant qualification in VAWG is desirable.
