Job Introduction

The BBC is committed to attracting diverse new talent across the organisation in a wide variety of trainee and apprenticeships. From software engineering, journalism, production to cyber security the BBC offers opportunities to build skills and experience and develop careers. Our Early Careers programmes are critical to the future of the BBC, bringing in the broadest and most diverse range of new and emerging talent to build their careers with us.

As the Early Careers Resourcing Lead you will be responsible for the delivery of all Talent Acquisition activity to support our Early Careers Apprenticeship Programmes. You will bring a dedicated focus to owning and shaping the recruitment agenda, working hand in hand with our wider Early Careers Development Teams and be key to the success of the BBC’s early careers strategy.

You’ll lead the early careers resourcing team and manage the end to end resourcing process from attraction to on-boarding. You’ll also have the scope to innovate and explore new talent acquisition techniques, tools and methodologies to ensure that the BBC attracts the broadest range of diverse and talented individuals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the delivery of Early Careers recruitment activity; partnering with Early Careers Team to manage forecast, drive attraction, lead on assessment & selection and ensure an attractive EVP that engages Early Careers Talent
  • Leadership, engagement and day to day management of the schemes team with a clear focus on coaching and development
  • Partner with the Early Careers team to understand forecasts and the business demand for early careers talent, working with them to manage bids for schemes
  • Be the voice of the early careers programmes, engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders internally and externally to ensure that those engaged with our programmes receive an outstanding candidate experience.
  • Lead on Early Careers attraction and recruitment to shape the strategy, including ways in which the BBC can grow our talent pipelines for Apprentice schemes to build future capability across the business and attract the very best diverse talent to the BBC
  • Reporting and performance management of the Early Careers Recruitment team.
  • Drive candidate engagement and outreach activity including job boards and social media, in partnership with the Employer Branding team to engage a pipeline of Early Careers candidates
  • Build and shape a new resourcing strategy for a centralised work experience program across BBC
  • Increase engagement and understanding of career opportunities in BBC through effective storytelling, communications and marketing
  • Embed BBC values, fairness and transparency across the entire recruitment model
Are you the right candidate?

We’re looking for a talented leader who is a true consultant and business partner, who has a proven background and depth of experience in delivery of early careers recruitment, outreach and strong project management skills. You will be a critical thinker with sound judgement who has led multiple cycles of Early Careers or Apprentice recruitment end to end. You can lead teams through large volume and complex hiring cycles and are a natural problem solver and goal focused. You bring teams together and inspire them with a clear view of the path ahead. You can build a strategic roadmap but also problem solve day to day challenges. You will have strong business acumen and be adept at working across matrixed organisations with the capability to build strong business relationships and networks both internally and externally.

You’ll have a keen interest in data and MI and understanding of external insight and emerging trends in the early carers space with experience of diverse candidate engagement.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
