About the role:
Our new ARU Peterborough site is open to students, and we are looking to recruit 3 Student Support Advisers one permanent position and two fixed term available, one for 12 months and one for 10 months. This is a student-facing role and the postholder's will be required to work up to 100% of their hours on campus. As a member of the team, you will provide help, advice, and guidance to students across a broad range of library and student support topics via multiple channels and function as a triage point for other university services.
The role also includes advising customers on the use of library resources, study spaces, IT equipment and software as well as contributing to a range of administrative tasks which are key to library and student support services. You will have excellent customer service skills, including being calm under pressure, be IT literate (with a sound knowledge of Microsoft office) and demonstrate attention to detail.
With two A Levels or a vocational qualification at level 3 or equivalent, you will have significant experience of working in a customer service environment, working successfully as part of a team and experience of administrative work using complex information systems. Experience of working in an office or library environment in higher or further education is desirable.
This role we are recruiting to is a full-time fixed term post until January 2024. Evening work (potentially until 8pm Monday - Friday) will also be required on a rota basis so there may be some flexibility with hours worked.
