Playground Installer
As a Playground Installer you will work as part of an installation team which will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and successful installation of playground projects predominantly into educational sites such as schools and nurseries.
You will work under the guidance of a Site Manager/Team Leader with the support of another Playground Installer.
What we want you to do:
· Follow the instructions of your Team Leader and/or Senior Playground Installer to ensure the safe and timely installation of our playground projects.
· This will include:
· Loading the lorry in the morning with all relevant tools and materials before heading to site.
· Assisting in the marking out of the playground project in accordance with the playground plan.
· Hard Landscaping Works – ground works, excavation, basic demolition, retaining structures, woodwork, timber or PPC edging.
· Fencing – Erection of metal and/or timber fencing and gates.
· Installation and build of bespoke play equipment, MUGA synthetic surfacing, grass, rubber mulch and other surfaces.
· Keeping the site clean and tidy, clearing away all waste.
· Following and observing all Health and Safety compliance procedures and site rules of conduct at all times.
What we are looking for:
· Evidence of previous building, landscaping or installation experience is an advantage.
· Physically fit, comfortable working outside in all weather conditions
· Ability to build a rapport with the installation team and sub-contractors.
· Hard working, well organised, tidy and able to prioritise work and manage time effectively.
· Ability to use your own initiative to keep the site build progressing in a timely manner.
· Enjoys being busy for a full days work in a fast paced work environment.
· Knowledge of ground works, equipment and safety procedures.
· Cool headed, hardworking, courteous and polite.
Key Details:
· Normal hours 7.30am to 5pm (1-hour lunch break)
· However we work on sites so hours can vary depending on the driving distance
· Normally a 42.5 hour week (Monday to Friday)
· Weekend work optional but rare and is paid as overtime
What qualifications do you need?
· Full driving license essential
· Able to pass an Enhanced DBS check essential
· CSCS Card (not essential)
· Digger and/or Dumper Licence an advantage
