About the role
The shared accounts team for Sytner BMW Maidenhead & MINI Slough has a fantastic opportunity available for an Assistant Accountant to join their team as part of the UK’s leading retailer of prestige cars. This role has become available due to an internal transfer.
As a Sytner Assistant Accountant, you will work closely with the Dealership Accountant to control the financial reporting of the business. The role will be involved in many aspects of the accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, asset depreciation, profit analysis and a wide variety of additional tasks.
As an Assistant Accountant you will be the go-to person for the accounts team, providing training, support and assistance where it is needed.
Sytner has a strong commitment to developing talent and building careers. You will work closely with the Dealership Accountant to build and expand upon your existing skill set. You will be involved in key business meetings with Managers such as debt reviews, audit and business reviews.
This role is a Monday to Friday role, although paid overtime may be necessary during busy periods and at month end due to reporting requirements.
About You
Previous experience and a good working knowledge of accounting routines, including balance sheet reconciliations are essential. Knowledge of the CDK/Kerridge Dealer Management system is not essential but would be advantageous.
A strong working knowledge of excel is fundamental to the role. Though your experience can be built upon, it would be advantageous if you had experience with vlookup’s, pivot tables and ‘if’ based formulas. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the drive to creatively improve processes, often through excel based solutions.
Due to month end reporting requirements, the ability to work to strict deadlines is necessary. The successful candidate will be able to deliver accurate results on time, whilst working under pressure in busy periods.
