Job Description
Polypipe Building Products are focused on delivering solutions to the residential sector. Polypipe Building Products works with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions as well as hot and cold plastic plumbing products.
Role: Under indirect supervision, maintain and repair all the site equipment, plant & machinery. Ensure that it is operating to the optimum performance specifications & standards. Perform fabrication and welding repairs, plan maintenance, inspection, verification and administrative duties at our Broomhouse Lane site in Edlington.
Responsibilities:
- To carry out fabrication/welding repairs and corrective maintenance.
- To carry out fabrication and welding remedial repairs as defined by the TPM systems.
- To carry out fabrication and welding project work.
- To perform clerical and house keeping duties as needed.
- Ensures strict compliance with company Health & Safety procedures.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Secondary school education with Time served Fabrication/Welder certification, C&G standard or suitably experienced equivalent.
- Manual Handling and welding skills.
- Select the proper welding process, electrode/filler, machine settings, and welding procedure when given a welding task to perform
- Set up and safely operate associated tools and equipment including acetylene torch, plasma, robotic welder, grinders, drill press, mechanical shears, and hand tools
- Ability to interpret drawings, use math and measuring in fabricating
- Understand and follow specific drawings, instructions and procedures.
- Ability to recognise equipment anomalies.
- Practical knowledge of the LOLER & PUWER regulations.
Hours of work: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00.
