The BIU at Deutsche Bank is an in-house intelligence and investigations advisory team providing risk assessments to the wider bank. As an associate in the BIU FSU/CIS team, you will carry out open-source research and analysis, compiling reports on entities and individuals with a nexus to the former Soviet Union region, including Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and other relevant countries.

Your key responsibilities

  • Research of open sources in English and Russian
  • Use of corporate registries and media reports to extract relevant information
  • Turning research into analysis and long form due diligence and investigative reports
  • Supporting other team members in providing high quality reporting to internal clients

Your skills and experience

  • Educated to bachelor’s degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience
  • Experience in Consulting, Investigations, Finance, or other relevant sphere, with the ability to synthesise information and extract key findings from research
  • Fluency Russian and/or other relevant languages is advantageous
  • Familiarity with political and business environment in FSU/CIS region
  • Excellent writing and critical thinking skills – a passion for effective writing is a key element of the role
