IT Support Technician - 1st & 2nd Line Support
Location: Hybrid/Wednesbury-3 Day Office/2 Day WFH
Salary: Up to £50,000
Term: Permanent - Full-Time
As a specialist manufacturer of locking systems, Our Client supplies a wide variety of locks for industrial applications. Our product range is extensive and includes simple mechanical locks, the latest electronic devices, and many bespoke solutions. Our systems can be found on a vast variety of applications, and it is highly likely that you have used them without actually knowing it.
We are now seeking to hire an IT support technician to cover 1st and 2nd line roles. This is a new position to the company because we are currently using an external IT resource. The role will need to investigate and resolve problems within systems and services across the company. Requiring good communication skills, both verbal & written, you will be the friendly and helpful face/voice that the customer experiences when they require IT support across hardware, software, networking and communications. So, an enthusiasm for both technology and people are key attributes with this permanent position.
Essential Skills
- Investigating problems in systems and services
- Providing an exceptional level of quality support service to your Users
- Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and finding solutions to support calls and tickets
- Assisting with the implementation of agreed solutions and preventative measures
- Gathering issue/problem parameters and details to enable incident resolution
- Ability to understand when to escalate, where necessary
- Maintaining records and communicating effectively with Users through to issue resolution
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
- Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Office 365
- Network knowledge - we use Ubiquity for WIFI
- Dynamics 365 knowledge would be an advantage
- Familiarity with the core Windows operating system environments and hardware platforms
- SharePoint
- Troubleshooting printing issues
- E-mail spam filtering
- Understanding of virtualisation - VMWare Server and VMWare Workstation is useful
- PC hardware repair
