This is a unique opportunity to join the Financial Crime Data Science and Analytics area to be a Data Analyst in the Tactical Transaction Monitoring team. Our purpose is to combat financial crime with data, analytics, and data science to protect our customers and to help people and businesses to prosper.
This role will report into the team manager of the Tactical Transaction Monitoring and will be required to deliver SAS analyses and Python models to increase the efficiency of the bank’s financial crime control framework. The team is tasked with several functions in relation to detection of potential financial crime, the calibration of existing scenarios and the analysis of anomalies and spikes. You will also support the development and maintenance of the Interim Alert Engine.
The difference you’ll make.
- Coding, testing and maintaining production-quality code, model documentation and design, experiment, and evaluate algorithms, and fine-tuning model parameters
- Delivering analysis and insights on anomalies and alert spikes
- Supporting the end to end run of the Interim Alert Engine (replacing ERASE system)
- Communicating with business customers and leadership team with various levels of technical knowledge, educating them, as well as sharing insights and recommendations
- Maintaining and responsibility of EUC documents
What you’ll bring.
- Expert knowledge of SQL (ideally in SAS) or Python in a Big Data environment (essential)
- Previous experience in a Data Analyst role with a focus on data analysis and data management
It would also be nice for you to have.
- Experience with distributed computational frameworks (Impala, Hive, Hadoop, Spark)
- Demonstrable experience in customer and transaction analysis or customer alert generation/selections in the Financial Sector
- Mastery of source control versioning and unit-testing
- Knowledge of financial markets and instruments or financial crime/fraud controls
What else you need to know.
We will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.
This role offers hybrid working with an expectation to travel to the Milton Keynes office as and when required.
