A team where everyone can be themselves
We believe that people perform better when they can be themselves at work. And teams thrive when they’re made up of diverse people with different backgrounds and life experiences. We have dedicated networks for Black and Asian staff, LGBTQ+ staff, disabled staff and carers.

About us
Our media team is at the heart of the council. We’re part of the communications and digital unit which brings together corporate external and internal comms and creative design to support the council’s priorities.

About the team
Managing the council’s reputation, changing perceptions, explaining difficult decisions and influencing – that’s our focus.

About the role
You will tell the council’s story, help run a traditional press desk and maximise use of our own channels. You’ll be original, collaborative, able to influence, place audiences at the heart of your work, positive and flexible.

What you'll be getting up to
There’s no average day – you’ll be promoting the council’s work, spotting risks, providing sage advice, managing queries, leading training and more. Every day you’ll be delivering results and adding value.
