Job Description

Applications are invited for this new post to provide senior leadership in the Medical Informatics for children and young people (CYP) in the Department of Psychiatry.

Medical Informatics (CYP)'s research aims to develop personalised medicine approaches that draw on combined administrative datasets to prevention and intervention for mental health conditions in this population.

This is a post supported by Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), the Anna Freud Centre and the Cambridge BRC (NIHR BioResource and Paediatric themes). The post holder would be expected to spend one day a week undertaking clinical duties in CAMHS Liaison for CPFT, one day a week working for the Young People's BioResource and three days a week research in informatics in the Department of Psychiatry with the Charm research group.

We are looking for candidates who are credible as future independent research leaders, capable of raising grant income as principal applicants to peer-reviewed funding agencies, professionally managing research staff, and inspiring and educating students especially at postgraduate level. We are especially interested in candidates whose intellectual credibility as independent scientists is matched by their commitment to enhancing clinical services in the NHS.

Informal enquiries are welcomed and should be directed via email to:

Professor Tamsin Ford, Department of Psychiatry (Academic queries) [email protected] or Dr Isobel Heyman, CPFT (Clinical queries) [email protected]

This appointment requires an Honorary Clinical Contract. This is an integrated appointment between the University and the relevant NHS Trust/Body ("NHS Trust"). You will therefore also be issued with an Honorary Research Contract by the NHS Trust. You should be aware that if your contract with the NHS Trust is terminated your employment with the University will be terminated, and vice versa.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 5 years in the first instance.
