We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Assistant Traffic Officer to join our NMC SW Account.
Our NMC SW Account is working in partnership with Transport Scotland Southwest since August 2020, we are responsible for inspections, cyclical maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery as well as winter maintenance and incident response. The team are first on the scene to assist road users on the road network, deliver engineering design and operational delivery services for more than 600 kilometres of road and 1,650 structures enabling reliable journey times and a high level of customer care for the people and businesses that use these roads every day. By ensuring our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and traffic incidents, we aim to create well-functioning, safe spaces which minimise disruption, keep people moving and support thriving communities.
The Assistant Traffic Officer plays an important part in creating further efficiencies and develop the co-ordiation process of the Trunk Road Space Booking management. Any other duties as considered necessary.

You will be responsible for:
- The Assistant Traffic Officer will support Traffic Officer in co-ordinating and managing all road works on the South West Trunk Road
- Populating and monitoring the Road Works Module (RWM) and Scottish Road Works Register (SRWR) ensuring all works on the network are fully reviewed and accurate.
- Disseminate accurate and timely information to Operational Partners via the Road Works Module, emails, regular meetings and telephone calls to assist in the effective coordination of all activities.
- Attend and chair (when required) the weekly Traffic Management Liaison meeting.
- Attendance at local Roads and Utility Committee meetings (RAUCS) as required.
We want to hear from you if you have the ability to work on time and within short timescales and you are to maintain high levels of detail and accuracy.
Ideally you have knowledge of RWM, SRWR and are familiar with the SW Trunk Roads Network.
You also must have Good IT skills.
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you are a strong and confident communicator to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
