Job Description
We are looking for an part-time receptionist for our busy hotel reception. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, whilst being able to stay calm under pressure as this is an extremely busy department;
- To greet guests following the correct registration procedures
- Explain to guest’s whereabouts of room, restaurant & other facilities at time of issuing key
- To handle all room reservations (by phone, email or OTAs)
- Ensure all bedrooms are allocated correctly and special instructions are actioned
- To update availability of OTAs to ensure overbooking does not occur
- Check out guests and receive payments ensuring all transactions are completed in line with recorded correctly.
- Cash up and reconcile cash, cheques and cards at the start and end of each shift
- To ensure the guest’s bills are kept up to date and that all billing instructions are actioned correctly.
- Respond to all telephone, email and in person enquires
- Handle all restaurant bookings and obtain menu pre-orders for large groups
- Handle all Christmas dining booking and obtain deposits and pre-orders
- Handle all conference bookings and send the relevant confirmations to the organiser
- Liaise with housekeeping regarding arrivals, stay, departures and any special instructions
- Liaise with the maintenance depart to ensure all issues are reported and actioned
- Maintain knowledge of all services, policies and procedures offered by all departments.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe reception area
- To handle and resolve any issues raised by in house guests
- Undertake any reasonable request from a member of the management team
- Ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained at all times
- To assist other departments such as the bar and restaurant when they are busy
Must be able to cover holidays if needed.
