To support this work, we are looking to appoint to our Emergency General Surgery department a substantive EGS Consultant with a subspecialty interest in either Colorectal, Paediatrics or complex interventional endoscopy (non-exhaustive). The successful applicant(s) will join and existing team of Emergency Surgeons. Our department is fully funded and is supported through the National Forum for Acute Surgeons.
Full support will be in place to develop all and any subspecialty interests within job plan whether Colorectal, Children’s surgery or advanced endoscopy.
As the post(s) is a substantive level post, all applicants are expected to have CCT (or equivalent) or be at least 6 months from this. Please check with UK entrance to determine eligibility before applying. Since this post is substantive, it is expected that all applicants to the post will contact the Specialty lead or Service manager (numbers below)priorto shortlisting to discuss the post, otherwise your application may not be considered.

Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / EU equivalent certification at the time of interview. Applicants not on the specialist register may be considered for a locum position. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
