To manage and lead the site, supervising a team of 15 across three profit centres, staff dining, hospitality and vending. To innovate, ensure the highest possible food service standards, and maximise profitability.
Also an exciting refurbishing project for the café in the pipeline!

Job description

Your key responsibilities as the general manager will consist of:
Financial Skills
  • Provide financial analyses and reports of current operations
  • Ensure preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor deviations from budget and take corrective action to meet established goals
Operational Skills
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws: business licenses, Health and Safety, allergens, etc.
  • Oversee expansion, remodel and significant repair and maintenance projects
  • Negotiate purchase, lease and service contracts for equipment
  • Develop policies and procedures as and when required
Marketing Skills
  • Work with staff to develop and project Lexington’s public image
  • Work with staff to create and maintain a coherent Lexington image
  • Coordinate community outreach programs with operations
Human Resources Skills
  • Ensure full staff lifecycle
  • Ensure orientations and on-the-job training for all staff
  • Ensure timely evaluations for all staff based on written job descriptions and performance standards
  • Ensure a safe, healthy workplace for employees
  • Establish channels for employee input and recognition
  • Ensure planning for staff development to retain and promote qualified employees
  • Approve pay increases for all employees
Miscellaneous Skills
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Line Manager
  • Organise Management Team meetings

Skills & Experience

The experience and knowledge we are looking for from the future General Manager include:

  • Ability to work independently under the general direction of Lexington directors
  • Successful experience as a GM or manager in a hospitality environment
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Demonstrated initiative, and leadership ability
  • Ability to handle multiple demands
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments
  • Supervisory experience: hiring, training, evaluating, redundancies
  • Knowledge of current trends in the natural foods industry
  • Ability to interpret financial statements
  • Willingness and ability to learn to meet the changing requirements of the job
  • Experience leading business or organisation through times of expansion and growth
  • Familiarity with Coops and Coop Values
  • Ability to work within team setting
  • Computer proficiency

As part of your package, we are offering a salary of £52,500 per annum
