The Role
The Head of Retail Sales and Operations EMEA is responsible for leading the regional sales and operations team to deliver the overall sales performance and strategy across EMEA, through a high performing team. The role reports to the Retail, Education, Operations and Pro Director EMEA, and has direct reports of Regional Sales Managers and an Operations & Maintenance Manager. You will deliver the annual strategy, identify risks and opportunities ahead of time, whilst driving entrepreneurial solutions. The ideal candidate will be based from either a commutable distance from London or France, they will be required to travel across the EMEA regions for this role and time spent frequently in our London Global Head Office.
You will be responsible for the overall operations budget and retail staffing budget to ensure that the shape of this will deliver the regions strategy, whilst managing costs according to business trends and to maximise profit – supported with in depth productivity & performance analysis. You will lead on ensuring that the current estate and new distribution, are set up for success, ease and efficiency, taking into account both the customer and employee journey. You will work closely with the Regional & Global teams including, but not limited to the tech, store design and CT.com teams, to constantly improve and evolve retail practises and tools, whilst cross regionally sharing best practise from a sales and operations perspective. You will ensure that all stores have market leading presentation standards, and that the safety of Team Tilbury and our customer is at the heart of everything you do.
Requirements
Commercial Leadership:
- Collaborate on the building of forecast setting alongside Commercial counterparts.
- Deliver retail sales in line with forecast commitments, achieving total retail sales across the region, ensuring optimum and consistent KPI performance (as set out within the REOP strategy) with a focus on the full year outlook, utilising your regional managers to deliver/keep you informed of current trade.
- Devise clear and precise analytical review of total estate performance through regular productivity dissection.
- Propose changes to FTE structure and forecast to the Commercial Director and REOP Director ahead of final sign off of forecast.
- Sign off both retail sales targets and commission ahead of submission to finance.
- Deliver rolled up reporting for the region from the regional managers that can be dissected easily and is presentable to Senior Stakeholders.
- Optimise ways of working alongside the Education and Pro Manager to dually achieve the annual REOP strategy and sales budget.
- To be the retail project lead for new distribution.
High Performance Team:
- Lead and manage the team of Regional and Operations Managers, ensuring each manager has clear objectives in line with the sprint process.
- Work with the Retail People Partner of the region to support you in the delivery of your people plan for the Field Sales and Operations and Maintenance teams.
- Lead initiatives and actively encourage action plans to address engagement needs identified from Peakon, building a culture of inclusion and motivation for the Field Sales Management and Operations and Maintenance teams.
- To review and analyse HR stats and labour turnover for EMEA, working with the Regional Managers to improve and have consistency.
- To work with the Education and Pro Manager to ensure Field team engagement and development are top of mind with robust plans in place, enabling a market leading field team.
- Devise strategy to encompass all non-team tilbury engagement and motivation.
- To make proposals to the REOP Director on how to further drive engagement, optimise productivity and ensure operational excellence, with clear rationale and business case planning.
Retail Sales and Operations Strategy:
- Taking the total REOP annual strategy, define the annual strategy for sales and operations and take through to implementation, reviewing regularly and course correcting as appropriate.
- Work in close collaboration with the Education & Pro Manager to review launch and sustain plans for all stores and NPD, to ensure all Charlotte Tilbury Beauty stores reach #1 ranking across all partner department stores.
- Ensure there is clear differentiation between department store concession, free standing stores, and Specialty model in terms of their main objectives, and USPs with a clearly defined approach for each.
- Propose opportunities to drive brand awareness, performance, and market share across the region.
- Relationship building and direct point of contact for Head of Marketing and Head of People.
- Ensure all store standards, operational excellent and VM execution are to brand standard and are always market leading, proposing and business casing to the REOP Director ways to continually improve this.
- To drive a tech first culture in line with business ambitions, by ensuring that tech ease and efficiency and journey in store is as strong as CT.com.
- To work closely with our Health and Safety consultants and the legal team to ensure that the safety of our team and customers is our #1 priority and never compromised.
- Ensure that stock control across EMEA has structure and process, and work with the supply chain team and commercial teams to optimise stockholding to maximise the sales opportunity.
- Drive a truly omnichannel culture working closely with CT.com team to share best practise, and make the customer journey as consistent as possible.
- Have good relationships with all central People and Staffing Managers for each retailer to optimise opportunity and cost contribution.
