The focus will be on providing day to day monitoring and analysis of alerts as well as carrying out proactive threat hunting. You will contribute to supporting the SOC Manager in maintaining up-to-date processes and reporting on detection and response metrics.

You will gain vast insight into our culture and our business and align that insight with your career ambitions. Successful completion of the summer internship could lead to you being offered a place on our Bright Futures graduate programme after Graduation.

Aside from being one of the world’s longest-standing general insurers providing peace of mind to individuals, families, small businesses, and large corporations, we pride ourselves in bringing together the brightest people from diverse backgrounds. Being a part of RSA means being part of an inclusive, collaborative, and diverse community that allows people to feel and be their best.

Joining us means being part of a company committed to transparency in the way we work. We use responsible business practices that not only span our investments, choice of suppliers and environmental impact, but how we engage with customers and employees.

Responsibilities

In this internship opportunity, you can expect to be:

  • Conducting day-to-day analysis of security alerts from automated tools

  • Assisting with developing and maintaining RSA’s detection and response capability.
  • Contributing to continuously improving the capability through regular exercises, simulations and other activities.
  • Contributing to advanced investigations with 3rd Triaging of malicious packages

The Individual

We want your individualism, capability, and ambition to shine through. You will need to have a zest for learning and a willingness to be hands on in the role.

You will need to be a Graduate in your penultimate year of study.

The best attributes to have to be successful in this internship are:
  • Keen interest and knowledge of cybersecurity incidents, threats and investigations
  • An eye for detail, with the ability to collate and provide analysis
  • An ability to adapt and proactively react to changing circumstances or requirements
  • A results driven outlook that will support RSA to outperformance.
