We’re looking for an exceptional Climate Scientist - Foundation Scientist to help us make a difference to our planet. You'll join a time that embraces a hybrid pattern of homeworking and at Exeter HQ.

You'll be part of the UK Science into Services Team in Programmes where we maintain, support and carry out work to improve the delivery of the UK Climate Projections climate service. As a member of the team, you’ll be contributing a key Met Office climate service that underpins the UK efforts for adapting to climate change including the UK Climate Change Risk Assessment and the National Adaptation Programme.
Your work will include user engagement to support them on their way to understand how to use climate information and to explore with them how we could improve the existing services. You'll also be carrying out scientific analysis to deliver novel solutions that inform real-world decisions.

As our Climate Scientist - Foundation Scientist , your starting salary will be £24146.00 and you will have opportunities to progress to £26641.00 over time. New joiners to the Met Office will start on the salary band minima.
Your total reward package is potentially worth up to £34000.00 annually, which includes basic salary, potential corporate bonus and employer pension contributions.
