Job Description
Polypipe Building Products are focused on delivering solutions to the residential sector. Polypipe Building Products works with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions as well as hot and cold plastic plumbing products.
Role: We have an opportunity for a Foreperson to join our Despatch team. As a Foreperson, you will have excellent working relationships and partnerships, based on an open two-way communication style with team members and the management team. Together with strong people management skills you will promote flexibility through skills training and personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the physical appearance and safety of the working warehouse.
- Review and improve the operating environment through establishing and maintaining housekeeping standards.
- Ensure health and safety standards are achieved on an ongoing basis and actively promote individual responsibility for health and safety.
- Ensure all direct activities have a relevant standard operating procedure and actively pursue the elimination of waste through the application of continuous improvement tools and techniques
- Manage the allocation of work on a daily basis, controlling headcount and overtime, ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets are met.
- Regularly update team members with team talks, achievements, objectives or problems affecting the department or site.
- Assist with the training of staff to a high standard and check that these standards are maintained, as required.
- Create and maintain a positive team culture and spirit, encouraging involvement from all team members when sharing group, divisional and team information.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of working in a similar role in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of supervising and motivating a team to success.
- Excellent communications skills and ability to motivate team members.
- Commitment and drive to achieve targets. Organisational skills with the ability to problem solve.
- Product knowledge would be advantageous. Proficient with Microsoft applications, outlook, word and excel.
- Excellent organisation and ability to meet deadlines with effective time management skills.
- Numerate, literate and articulate and high-level attention to detail.
- ·A full Driving Licence is essential as on occasions there maybe a requirement to visit other Doncaster sites.
Hours of work: 4 on 4 off 7:00am - 7:00pm
