This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced support worker professional to live rent-free in a fully furnished, newly renovated bedsit which includes all utilities, Council Tax and broadband connection. In return, you will provide emergency out of hours support between the hours of 9.00.pm and 8.30am (this can be flexible to suit work start times). The accommodation houses 10 high need female residents with complex and special mental health needs and is situated in Sydenham, Lewisham. Our aim is to support our tenants back into independence through empowerment and active participation. We are looking for someone to live within the service and be on hand during the night to deal with any emergencies that may arise. This role does not require you to be awake during the night, but instead, continue with your normal evening/sleep and deal with emergencies as and when they occur. Although it is not essential, this role lends itself best to support worker already experienced in mental health as you will need to act confidently and take appropriate action in a number of situations which may arise.
More about the role and responsibilities:

To provide assistance and support in out of hours’ emergencies and ensure good neighbourhood relations are maintained by effectively managing any noise disturbances.
- Deal with emergencies and incidents as they arise in a calm and professional manner. Report and record incidents in line with procedure and hand over to day-staff team.
- To coordinate and liaise professionally where required with police, ambulance, GPs, local authority and other professionals.
- To perform if required, health, safety, security and surveillance checks to monitor residents wellbeing.
- To occasionally facilitate the access by residents to required medication in a safe and secured way.
- Offer emergency emotional support to tenants if they are in a vulnerable state.
- In addition to the night off each fortnight, the Live-In Support Worker will also receive 42 nights annual leave per year.
- You will be issued with a Live-in Licence Agreement.
