ITagency is delighted to be working with a regulatory body within the medical sector. They regulate the following sectors, organ donation and transplantation, research, public display, post mortem, human application and anatomy. Within the organisation there are circa 60 staff and with being a small organisation, they recognises the importance of making the most of the resources that they have available. Our client has aspirations to take full advantage of data and digital development in its future strategic direction and development. They are in the process of ensuring that their current systems remain up to date, secure and resilient.
The work location is flexible. This can be a homeworking role. In which case you will not be expected to spend more than an average of 3 days in the office each month.
If you would prefer an office-based role, you would be required to spend a minimum of 1 day a week in the office.
For this role as the Technical Lead, you will be managing the transition to a shared service model for IT services and wider digital resourcing over the next 9-12 months.
You will be responsible for the co-ordination of the technical requirements of the project specifically technical specification of business requirements, preparation of the IT systems and infrastructure for due diligence assessment (pre contracting and during the award process). You will work alongside the Project Manager to drive the delivery of the project and manage the transition of IT Services between suppliers and to a new delivery model.
The move to an IT Shared Services model is not independent of BAU delivery. As the project progresses there will be a significant level of interplay between current operational delivery and preparedness for transition. As a result, there will be a significant partnership working between BAU and project teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and be responsible for the development of detailed target architecture, “as is” documents on HTA systems and additional business requirements in scope, the development and delivery of transition plans and the design and execution of technical due diligence.
- In conjunction with the Project Manager direct and manage the technical elements of the project, its development and delivery from the beginning to end.
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business requirements for a future IT Shared Service model. The scope of the project includes specification and planning through to award and co-ordinating the transition.
- Develop full-scale technical plans that can be used to develop detailed project plans, milestones, and gateways for the overall shared service programme.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Dealing directly with technical functions, for example, Cloud Operations and Architecture, Software Development, Connectivity and Networking.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and conflicts to ensure effective resolution.
- Develop and deliver technical progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation.
- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and effective co-ordination of all technical aspects of the identification and transition to a shared service model.
For this role you will be required to operate at a senior level demonstrating an understanding of strategy and operational requirements for IT services, systems, and architecture.

Salary: £55,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
