Following an outstanding performance in REF 2021, Manchester Metropolitan University is continuing to pursue research excellence with impact as one of two core missions under its Road to 2030 Strategy. To help us to achieve our ambitions, we are seeking to appoint an experienced Research Ethics and Governance Manager to join colleagues in the Research and Knowledge Exchange Directorate who support all aspects of the University's high-quality research portfolio.
The role:
As a Research Ethics and Governance Manager you will play a major part in ensuring that research is delivered in line with ethical values and our commitments to the Concordat for Research Integrity. You will be part of a small and busy team that provides expertise and guidance to help staff and students carry out research that is consistent with high ethical and governance standards
You will report to the Head of Research Environment and Impact and work with existing Research Ethics and Governance Managers, research administrators and the Research Intelligence team. You will work closely with the Director of RKE on matters related to NHS sponsorship, our designated individual for matters related to the Human Tissue Act and our Faculty Heads of Research Ethics and Governance.

We are looking to appoint a personable, values-driven and collegiate individual who will build positive working relationships and can cope with the demands of a busy working environment.
The successful applicant will have good experience of working in a similar role or function either in a University / the NHS or a related environment. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who have some experience of advising academics on clinical or health-related research.
This role requires significant knowledge and understanding of the UK and international research landscape from a research integrity perspective.
