Job Description

Peoples Futures Limited (a subsidiary of Coventry University) is currently recruiting to the post of Teaching Fellow in Psychology to join our highly regarded, diverse team delivering our suite of British Psychological Society (BPS) Accredited courses. Working within the School of Psychological, Social and Behavioural Science, within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, the Teaching Fellow role focuses on teaching delivery to support the student experience through inspirational pedagogy and supervision.

We are looking for someone to contribute to Module Leadership, Teaching and Assessment on undergraduate and post-graduate courses, depending on specialism and experience. Our courses are run in a variety of formats, both on campus and partially online. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will be available to work on campus in Coventry. This is a student-facing role. We welcome applications from applicants wishing to work part-time.

Our students are a very diverse community, including those new to psychology, and others already working in the field. We are keen to invite applications from academics, and practitioners to reflect the diversity of our student population.

You will be a highly motivated academic and/or practitioner with a track record in Psychology. You will have a collaborative approach to team working. You will be a confident and clear communicator with a high level of interpersonal skill, and personal effectiveness to embed into the existing team, and promote an outstanding experience for all. You will adopt a flexible approach to your teaching and be committed to delivering the highest standards of student experience.

Applicants must have a Master’s degree in an appropriate subject. Alternatively, if from a Professional Practice background, applicants must have a good Honours Degree and appropriate professional qualification and/or membership. A relevant PhD is desirable.

Experience of teaching within Higher Education is desirable. That said, Coventry University offers academic support and professional development to those less accustomed to academia. We require staff without a recognised teaching qualification to undertake the Post-Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Higher Education as part of the role.
