Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO, the successful applicant will be responsible for establishing and managing an effective HR function within Envitia, with the following critical objectives:
- Develop and implement a HR Strategy to align all HR initiatives and processes for achieving key organizational objectives
- Drive the continuous HR improvement agenda, with a focus on employee
engagement and employee experience
- Maintaining high levels of employee satisfaction and conduct the annual staff survey
- Lead on focus groups to bring us forward as a people-centric employer
- Minimising staff attrition
- Lead on any disciplinary, performance and grievance activities, if and when required
- Establish and maintain an effective Line Management structure
- Ensure that the development of employees is actively progressed in line with the requirements of the business
- Deliver in-house training to upskill the capability of Envitia’s people managers
- Develop a fit for purpose performance development process, aligned to the strategic direction of Envitia
- Lead on the annual salary review process, carry out external benchmarking so as to ensure that Envitia remains competitive
- Advise the CEO on any material concerns raised by, or relating to, employees
- Lead on the Envitia organisational culture, ensuring that the Company’s vision, mission and values are embedded across the business.
- Manage the Recruitment Manager and an HR Assistant
- Maintaining a close working relationships with all members of the Leadership Team
- Ensure the HR function is UK Employment law and GDPR compliant at all times
Measures of Success:
The following are key measures of success for the role:
- The staff survey shows improving measures of employee satisfaction
- 100% of employees have had an appraisal within the past 12 months
- Unwanted staff attrition remains below 15%
- An efficient and cost-effective recruitment function is maintained at all times
- Timely recruitment of the agreed resources and skills
Professional Requirements:
- Exceptional knowledge of UK employment law and HR practices.
- A proven track record in developing and delivering an HR Strategy for organisational success
- A proven leadership experience with exceptional leadership qualities within a corporate environment
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to rapidly build relationships across the business
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a business with a fast-changing, collaborative, culture
- Strong commercial awareness, identifying the key areas where the people strategy
will deliver value to the operating teams
- A background in technology or defence sectors is preferred
- A passion about building a high performing and high satisfaction business culture
- A continuous improvement approach
- A natural team player ethos
The appointed individual should:
- Have at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Have a successful and demonstrable track record as an HR Director or senior HR Manager within a technical services business
- Be CIPD qualified – preferably to Level 7 or achieved chartered membership status
Working Location:
Regular attendance in Horsham, West Sussex.
