About the role
We are looking for a talented, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic individual to join our collegial team and to help shape our exciting new provision in Interior Design. The successful candidate will
contribute their expertise to deliver and further develop a range of modules on our BA (Hons) Interior Design course, and they will also contribute to learning and teaching across the wider Subject Area of Interior Design, Architecture, and Product & Furniture Design within Bath School of Design, where appropriate.
They will play an important role in developing the knowledge and skills of our undergraduate and postgraduate students, and work as part of the wider Bath School of Design team to provide professional mentorship, deliver robust assessment, appropriate student support, and overall maintain a high-level of learning and teaching supported by industry-informed expertise.
Additional duties include assisting the Head of School and the School Senior Leadership team in enhancing the School’s curriculum portfolio, furthering relationships with employers and other relevant external parties, and more broadly pursuing opportunities to enhance the student experience.
About you (requirements)
You will have experience in delivering and leading teaching and learning in a Higher Education institute in interior design. In support of teaching you will have professional industry networks and be actively engaged in interior design practice, research and/or scholarly activities.
We expect that as an interior design specialist you are conversant in current dialogues in environmental sustainability and these will be translated into the teaching and learning practices on the course.
Experience of industry relevant software such as Revit, AutoCAD or Sketchup and of hands-on drawing to communicate through the design process, is welcome. You will have an active interest
in hands-on and experimental approaches to environmentally friendly materials, and their application to interior design.
