Royal Mail’s Property and Facilities Solutions provide a wide variety of soft services for all Royal Mail properties nationwide. We’re recruiting now for an experienced Soft Services Manager to lead a dedicated team of cleaners across multiple sites in and around the NP, CF and GL postal areas.
About the role
As a Soft Services Manager with responsibility for a team of approximately 55 employees across circa 45 sites, you will lead, control, manage, and improve the provision of Cleaning and Office Management within the Newport area, in order to meet commercial, financial, customer service, and quality requirements in the most effective manner.
In this multi-site role, you’ll ensure the smooth day-to-day running of Frontline staff, visiting each location on a bi-monthly basis, with more time spent at larger sites such as the Newport and Cardiff Mail Centres. With exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you’ll build strong relationships with the customer, making them feel valued, and act as their key point of contact within your assigned geographical area.
With a passion for continuous improvement, you’ll create a culture that embraces change, and build customer satisfaction by communicating to both customers and their team the benefits of any existing or new innovations in technology, cleaning methods, or products. With full responsibility for the health and safety of your team and the sites they work on, you’ll lead by example demonstrating positive safety behaviours and safe working practices.
Attendance Hours: Core hours are 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday with a degree of flexibility for the candidate and for the company to suit business requirements.
About you
A natural leader with a proven track record of multi-site management, you’ll have the experience and enthusiasm to hit the ground running. With a background in soft services, facilities, maintenance, or similar, you’ll provide coaching and advice, while keeping the whole operation running smoothly. Relevant qualifications and/or knowledge of cleaning methods and standards such as BICS are a distinct advantage.
Organised and flexible in your approach, you’ll have the ability to autonomously manage your own time and workload. With the ability to effectively problem solve in a fast paced operational environment, you’ll also be IT literate and competent in Microsoft programmes. With an eye for detail, you’ll be confident in efficiently managing resources and budgets – all with a view to ensure your sector is working at its very best.
Due to the multi-site nature and extensive travel requirements of this role, you must be based within the NP, CF and or GL postcode area, and be in possession of a full UK driving licence.
