An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the primary components operations team in submarines as a Production Planning and Control Manager covering both make aspects of demand and supply planning.
Using standard processes and best practice, you will be accountable ensuring the production plan (OE, spares, NPI etc.) in the manufacturing facility is accurate. You will drive adherence to rigorous planning and ERP compliance across both make and buy products and processes.
This Role also includes being the accountable people leader for the operational assist team and leading the team in developing effective partnerships within the supply chain to support operational effectiveness.

What you will be doing:
With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to:

Functionally own the load capacity planning processes and ensure robust load capacity planning is undertaken within the value stream. You will develop a team of competent & capable professionals. You will be responsible for managing the functional drivers of Inventory and cost reduction.

Leadership of the operational assist team including managing through SQCDP to ensure that delivery plans within the team effectively support the operational business requirement

Ensure the team has robust & credible plans in place that meet customer requirement and are deployed to support delivery.

Ensure the ERP system reflects current commitments. Drive ERP compliance with the team, using the standard, mandated Work Instruction, to ensure robustness of plans through high integrity data.

Develop MRPC professionals ensuring alignment to generic roles and development of competency in role to the required level.

Oversee the load & capacity planning processes in their value stream to ensure delivery plans are supported by realistic manufacturing performance and robust inbound supply plans.

Proven leadership qualities through previous experience of managing teams and people development.

Demonstrated ability to deliver under challenging circumstances.

Understanding of different roles / functions / processes (e.g. Manufacturing, Purchase, NPI, ME etc).

Experience of production planning and control processes

Knowledge of and working experience with MRP systems.

MS Office or equivalent working skills

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
