Customer Facing Packaging Designer, Bespoke Solutions - Home Counties
Innovative Packaging Supplies & Bespoke Packaging Solutions provider seeks to capitalise on their continued significant growth, with the first appointment of a talented and ambitious Packaging Technologist / Structural Packaging Designer, who possesses the intellect and dynamism to drive an increased Technical Design Services presence across their high profile Client relationships.
Based in the Home Counties and operating across a circa 75 mile radius, they seek a talented and dynamic individual with the ability to deliver innovation that builds & genuinely leverages existing Client relationships. You will be talented and ambitious and will take responsibility for working directly with the Client Development team in the evolution of a number of high profile existing Client Accounts.
In an increasingly commoditised market, this Business has invested and enhanced it’s ingenuity, capability and therefore service desirability, through global outsourcing partnerships, through innovative material solutions and most critically though an intelligent, client centric partnered approach in the development of products, services and outstanding Client satisfaction and they now seek an outstanding ‘Technical Value Engineer’ as the first recruit in building their Technical Innovation strategy & team.
Your main responsibility will be to support the existing Sales operation by designing and creating innovative packaging solutions for an impressive and diverse portfolio of Clients. Working with Artios Cad design software in your internal design and innovation responsibility, you will also work from their Midlands HQ in the creation working samples & full testing capability, whilst also accompanying the senior Sales team members on customer site visits. You will be responsible for visualising and generating enhanced product impact and process flow cost savings through packaging innovation and be able to provide the related technical reports to a diversity of key Client stakeholders, including Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing and Logistics.
Other aspects of the role include;
- Continually review market place and industry, communicating changes and opportunities within the company and their customer market place.
- New product development, planning and management
- Working closely with both existing and potential customers to gain a full understanding of their businesses and the implications and effect of the packaging materials used and the core sustainability strategy.
- To plan and prioritize activities focused on achieving business and area goals
- Communicate, liaise and negotiate internally and externally to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships
- Work closely with strategic suppliers
You will have experience of working with Artios CAD or similar software and have a proven track record of creating and driving enhanced product and financial efficiency to customers - either directly through the redesign of product, or indirectly by improving line speeds and efficiencies. Ideally you will have experience of working for a conventional corrugated packaging manufacturer and can demonstrate a high level of both technical knowledge and an understanding of the eCom / 3PL arenas. You are innovative with great attention to detail and have a natural creative flair, always receptive to new concepts and constantly seeking to broaden your knowledge of packaging.
