Job summary

The Royal Air Force Medical Board at RAF Henlow are recruiting for a dynamic and resilient individual to take up the role of Medical Administrator. We currently have a vacancy within the department to carry out administrative tasks in support of the Aviation Medicine Clinical Services (AMCS) output.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Part-time employment can only be supported when two suitable candidates wish to participate in a job-share scheme.

Job description

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a variety of administrative tasks such as:

  • Management of a new patients referral through the electronic Medical Information System (DMiCP) and allocation to an appropriate clinician as required.
  • Liaising with patients and Defence Primary Healthcare Medical Centres to arrange medical appointments at the AMCS.
  • Deal with any queries that arise, passing to the clinical team as appropriate
  • Respond to telephone enquiries appropriately.
  • Ensure all patients and visitors to the RAF Medical Board & AMCS are received in an appropriate manner, including the issue of identity passes and delivery of a building specific Health & Safety brief.
  • Perform administrative tasks as necessary including photocopying, faxing, scanning, data processing and database management in support of the operational functions of the AMCS.

Interviews are planned to be undertaken within the RAF Medical Board building (date to be confirmed in due course) which will give candidates the opportunity to have a walk around, meet the team and ask any specific questions about the role. However, depending upon COVID19 guidance in place at the time, interviews may have to be performed via telephone instead.
