Job Description
My Choice Children's Homes provide residential care for children who are looked after across nine homes throughout Sussex and Surrey - we are looking for Trainee Support Workers who would like the opportunity to work in residential childcare, ideally with some experience of having worked in the social care sector voluntary or employed with children and young people, however limited or no experience is also welcome. You need to be keen to learn the skills required to work in a residential setting.
We are looking for college leavers or adults aged 18 – 21 to join our Trainee Support Worker six-month programme, who may have achieved a Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent at college and looking for a full time employed role with a training programme attached. There will be support provided from the training department and Homes Manager.
If you already have a Level 3 Diploma Health and Social Care qualification this will be an advantage, however if you do not have this qualification we will provide training and support for you to achieve a nationally recognised qualification through the CACHE / NCFE awarding body (worth over £1000+). This will be following successful completion of the trainee programme.
We are offering a competitive salary, training session every two weeks and work our shift pattern alongside other Residential Support Workers, within our homes.

Hours of work are an average of 42 hours per week, working a five week rolling rota pattern of 'two days on, three days off'. You are required to work any day of the week. You are required to sleep-in at the home (sleeping in room provided) when on duty for which you are paid a rate per night.

Day one shift starts at
10am to 11pm
Sleep in
11pm to 8am
Day two shift starts at
8am to 11pm
Sleep in
11pm to 8am
Day Three shift finishes at
8am to 10am
