Several exciting opportunities have arisen to work within the Customer Access Service - the first point of contact for Lancashire County Council. You will be part of our team who together handle over 1 million customer interactions a year, assisting the residents of Lancashire in accessing the many services the Council provides.
What is my role?
You will liaise with customers via a variety of different channels including telephone, email, social media and webchat over 28 different services, varying from booking a wedding, reporting a pothole, processing a blue badge or sensitively handling a safeguarding referral.
When you join us, your Customer Access journey will start with bespoke in-house training within our contact centre in Accrington. We want you to feel comfortable and supported in giving the best possible service to the people of Lancashire. Following this initial training period you will be provided with equipment and will mainly be working from home, so will require access to broadband.
Hours of work?
Our opening hours are 08:00am – 17:00pm Monday to Friday. We are able to accommodate requests for full time or part time shift patterns throughout the week to suit your worklife balance, subject to business needs.

We're Looking For Individuals that:
- Are passionate about all aspects of customer service
- Display excellent communication skills. The ability to listen whilst providing advice and guidance, addressing concerns and resolving queries
- Are highly proficient in the use of ICT systems. Experience of working in a customer contact centre would be useful however this is not essential and full training will be given
- Have a positive can do attitude
