Service Information Controller
Chiltern Railways is part of the Arriva group, one of the leading providers of passenger transport in Europe. Chiltern Railways operates commuter/regional rail passenger services from its Central London terminus at London Marylebone along the M40 corridor to destinations in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire, as well as long-distance services to the West Midlands along two routes.
Chiltern are looking for a Service Information Controller to ensure that specific job activities do not introduce unacceptable business and safety risks to any aspect of the company operation, and that the appropriate policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to, ensuring that all such activities comply with the relevant sections of the Safety Case and the current Safety Plan.
Disseminate accurate and timely train performance.
Monitor CCTV system for faults/incidents.
Report station faults.
Organise and record the use of buses and taxis.
Record staff sickness.
Record incidents and accidents involving staff and passengers.
Implement on-call procedures.
Liaise with Customer Services and Operations Managers.
Liaise with other Train Operating Companies.
Monitor booking office hours.
Use customer information screens and long line public address.
GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent.
Working in a Railway Control Centre environment.
Being regularly assessed against competence standards.
Working in a Safety Critical environment.
Working in a time sensitive customer focussed environment.
Active listener with the ability to communicate clear and concise information.
Experience of working with CCTV.
Experience in providing excellent customer service and use of public address systems.
Able to work in a calm and efficient manner especially when under pressure.
Confident, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual; who can demonstrate the ability to work well in a team and alone.
Detail conscious and able to complete reports clearly, correctly and succinctly.
Flexible approach to working conditions and working in a changing working environment.
