PURPOSE
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, the Director of Postgraduate and Continuing Education is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and execution of the objectives of the Continuing Education department. The Director of Postgraduate and Continuing Education is responsible for the design, development, marketing, delivery, and successful management of continuing education programs for local, online, and international constituencies. Programs are designed to effectively address the current and emerging needs of the chiropractic community. The Director of Postgraduate and Continuing Education is proactive in assessing community needs, developing and overseeing budgets, proposals, and plans, and implementing and evaluating continuing education programming. This involves working closely with faculty, staff, students, members of the community, and local and state-wide organizations to develop programming that meets the professional development, personal enrichment, cultural enhancement, and lifelong learning needs of the chiropractic profession and community. The Director of Postgraduate and Continuing Education ensures that these functions align with and support the vision and mission of Life Chiropractic College West.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Design, implement, and supervise all continuing education curricular activities including course descriptions, course objectives, course content, and course offerings.Identify, hire, and/or recommend appointments of qualified instructors for both traditional and online/distance continuing education programming.
Work collaboratively internally and externally with other organizations, institutions, or businesses to conduct programs and institutes to meet regional, educational, career training, and re-licensure needs.
Arrange logistical support (i.e., food service, meeting space, signage, registration) to support program offerings.
- Oversee/perform the wide variety of tasks related to making necessary physical arrangements for conferences and programs, including on and off-site offerings.
- Supervise and evaluate program instructors and department staff.
- Supervise, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate various continuing education programs that are developed and offered by the continuing education program.
- Facilitate registration software management and implementation.
- Develop a business plan for the continuing education program that includes estimated start-up costs, personnel, required materials, marketing, participation fees, breakeven analysis, and growth plans and projections.Direct the implementation of programming including registration, collection of fees, scheduling of facilities and equipment, and the submission of all required reports and evaluations.
Prepare and manage the budget and the annual program plan
- Marketing StrategiesFacilitate website management and the use of other social media formats to promote continuing education programs.
- Provide support for all college-sponsored events including but not limited to the annual “WAVE” and “Spring for Life” programs.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Education, or other related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Continuing Education.
- Demonstrated effective leadership and supervisory experience to effectively strategize and manage continuing education programs.
- Working knowledge of continuing education software and technologies.
- Knowledge of the community and the ability to work within it to assess needs, plan accordingly, locate instructors, and market strategically.
- Strong project management skills to effectively coordinate projects,
- Ability to anticipate problems, exercise good judgment, and develop and apply solutions effectively
- Set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.
Requires ability to communicate and exchange information; collect, compile, and prepare work documents; and set up and maintain work files.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs., retrieving and placing materials on high shelves and on floor-level shelves; standing, walking, carrying, grasping, hearing, seeing, sitting, kneeling, climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, and reaching.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work performed in a general office environment.
Periodic travel may be required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
