Application Specialist – Medical & Laboratory Equipment

The Role:
- This is an Application Specialist role, reporting to the Technical Manager, Field Service Engineer role, ensuring the correct training and operation of the diagnostics products
- Working closely with the Field Service and Sales Teams, ensuring effective installation and training take place, along with ongoing support to the clients.
- Covering the North of England and Scotland, this role is based from home but some night will be spent away from home.
- Supporting the Sales Team objectives, identifying opportunities, supporting commercially and technically.
- Mostly working within NHS and Private laboratories, along with some hospital settings and research facilities.
- Installing and maintaining diagnostics equipment, electrical work as required, along with networking of the equipment.
- Full initial training will be provided with ongoing career development.
The Ideal Person:
- You must have a working background in biomedical science, post degree!
- Experience in transfusion or hematology are essential!
- It is also vital that you have sound technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, while being able to maintain a focus on customer needs.
- You need to be flexible, self-motivated, and able to deal with fast-paced and dynamic environments, while working in cross-functional teams.
- It is vital the person can travel freely within the UK, when required.
- If would be great if the person had some hands-on experience with basic tools used during installation and maintenance, however, this is not essential to you application.
- Strong IT experience, networking devices, configuring hardware basic software etc, would be beneficial to any application, but training will be provided.
- The ideal candidate lives in the Northwest, giving best access to the M6 for the trips to Scotland.
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential
- Right to work in the UK is essential – no sponsorship available
- Basically, a biomedical scientists from within NHSBT, who wants to expand their career would be ideally suited to this position!
