This is an innovative opportunity for you to be part of a service making a positive difference to the lives of children and their families.

About us

Oxfordshire's Corporate Parenting Service works with the most vulnerable children and families, including those on the edge of care, within the care system and preparing for independence.

We have a residential pathway comprising of two Assessment homes, one medium to long-term home, two move-on homes and a crisis response team to support our most vulnerable children and their families.

The strategic aim of this service is to deliver integrated and individualised interventions to promote best outcomes for our children.

Oxfordshire's Residential home provides mid to long-term care for six children aged 12 - 17, with the aim of supporting children to be either reunified with their families or supporting them in their next life transition.

About the role

You will be responsible for maximising the participation of young people through shared activities, key working, assessment and consultation, which respects their rights and is responsive to their individual needs.

Oxfordshire County Council recognises the need to have committed and experienced teams at the centre of the residential and edge of care service, and your role will be key in supporting and developing the culture of the home, in ensuring that we provide high-quality services which enable our children to reach their full potential.

You will be part of an experienced and supportive service with a clinical network. Ongoing training opportunities and up-to-date research practice groups are available to you.

About you

Have you got the drive, ambition, energy and skill to help us provide a residential service, enabling children we look after to achieve their ambitions?

Providing positive role modelling for children, you will ensure the highest standards of holistic care to promote life chances and positive outcomes through partnership working and dedication to meeting children's needs. You will ideally need to have experience of working in a residential and/or child care setting however this is not essential criteria.

Whilst not essential, a level 3 diploma in residential care or equivalent is desirable; you will be required to undertake the Diploma level 4 (OCC funded) as part of the role.

Above all, you must be child-centred and emotionally resilient in striving to achieve the very best for our children.

We are proud of our strong flexible working culture, including the opportunity for flexibility on working hours and the use of technology to support agile working. We offer some of the very best learning and development opportunities to support your ongoing development.

We have a generous holiday allowance which rises as you remain in employment with us up to 32 days, as well as giving you the option to buy additional holiday. You will also have access to a Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contributions of up to 19.9% of your salary; a range of local and national retail discounts; and a host of enhanced family friendly policies including carers leave and paid time off for volunteering.
