About the Role
We are looking for someone who is not afraid to get stuck in. Although this is a role for a Paralegal you will be expected to help with Legal Assistant tasks on a daily basis including – taking new enquiries, opening and closing files, filing, booking appointments and Legal Aid Administration.
You will assist and work closely with a Partner in the Children and Domestic Violence team who is an expert in their field working on a variety of cases involving international child abduction, children and domestic abuse proceedings with a range of complexities. Some of the duties will include taking instructions, preparing court bundles, drafting documents such as briefs, statements and applications, sitting behind counsel remotely and in person at Court – generally supporting a small team with a large caseload in a fast-paced environment. You will have your own fee earning targets to achieve. You will be expected to follow and comply with all pre-defined case management procedures, including those specifically relating to the compliance obligations of SRA, Lexel and any other regulatory bodies. About you
The ideal candidate will be proactive, hardworking, a team player and most importantly have a strong interest in learning more about Family Law. It is desirable but not essential that you have some relevant Legal Work Experience. To be successful, you must be flexible, willing and able to travel to Court and be able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities. You must not be afraid to ask questions to learn more about your role to succeed. You will have a cash and fee target with the chance to benefit from our incentive bonus scheme. You will work as part of a strong team to deliver the best results for your customers.
