Key responsibilities:

Undertake interior design projects from concept to completion

Define project requirements and schedule during the construction design development phase

Research and recommend materials and products for sourcing

Produce “sample” and “mood products”

Supervise work progress
-
Work closely with designers, decorators, architects, and constructors
-
Research and follow industry changes, evolutions, trends, and best practice
-
Work with the procurement manager to ensure commercial viability
-
Consider long term costs in use and maintenance requirements
-
Such other duties as the employer may require
Knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:
In-depth knowledge of layout, color, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all interior installations.-
Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator or other design programs

Creative talent, imagination and eye for design

Communication and presentation skills

Project management skills

Commercial awareness with an ability to make judgements based on the optimum blend of beauty, quality, service and whole-life cost

A team player

3 years + working experience in designing and decorating interior spaces (consultations, renovations, space planning and new construction)

Excellent portfolio of previous work
-
BS degree in Interior Design or similar
