The role?
If you don't know the ins and outs of the night carer role, not to worry, let's walk through a typical night.
Once you arrive at the home, you will be asked to sign in and to collect your digital care plan device for the night. There will be an evening handover, where our team on the day will let you know how everyone has been through the day and the manager on the day will let you know if anything is scheduled for that night. After that, it is time to get busy, some of our service users may wish to go to bed, have an evening bath or to get ready for bed.
You may also be asked to help fix up an evening snack or plate and hot or cold drink. All of which is available to everyone around the clock. After a busy day, our service users may wish to put their feet up and watch a bit of evening TV or read a good book with a warm drink. But every night can be different, so we work around the clock to make sure everyone is cared for and to make a difference.
Throughout the night you will be checking on our service users who require night time support or attending to our service users who request your assistance. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to take allocated breaks and a break for food and drink too.
By late evening you may start to clean the communal areas and by early morning some of our service users may wish to get up and ready for the day ahead.
Experience and Qualifications?
Experience is a bonus, but it's not a necessity. If you are looking for a new career or a job where you go home knowing you have made a difference to someone’s life. Then, we will guide, support, and show you the ropes.
