Vacancy description:
Reporting to the Global IT Service Level Manager, this role is positioned within our IT function to work in a wider, global team.
In this role you will support the Service Desk ticket system, attempting to ensure processes and best practice are followed, executed correctly and improved. Playing a key role in global IT support will be critical whilst following triage processes to resolve issues and ensuring that you escalate to 2nd Line when appropriate.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about IT, have good communication skills to be able to speak to all levels of stakeholder and be able to adapt to new situations and challenges.
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills:
- Basic knowledge of desktop environments (XP/Windows 7, Windows 10)
- Good understanding of different technologies, including telephony
- Basic IT knowledge
Personal Qualities:
- Enthusiastic and passionate about IT
- Good communication skills to be able to speak to all levels of stakeholder
- Able to adapt to new situations and challenges
Training to be provided:
CORE MODULES
The apprenticeship contains the following three core key modules which seek to develop the
knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be a successful Information Communications Technician.
The final module is a Pathway module to provide specialist career track skills and knowledge depending
on which track was chosen at the outset from the 3 options available.
Computer Fundamentals & Security
Gain an understanding of the core concepts in computing including hardware, software, security and troubleshooting.
Introduction to Networking & Cloud Services
An introduction to the fundamental cloud
concepts of networking and cloud computing, including networking
modules, devices and protocols.
Communication in Support
Support in IT requires good communications skills. Develop your communications skills by exploring the best practices of support.
